Description:
Family Medicine Residency Training Program, community based and affiliated with a prominent University, seeking a faculty OB/Gyn. Overnight calls average once per week with most weekends covered by OB hospitalists. The program is expanding OB care to the underserved rural communities surrounding the area in conjunction with training family medicine residents, resulting in the need for more faculty OB physicians. The program is accredited for thirty residents (ten per training year), and has a sports medicine fellowship. Given the obstetrical needs for rural communities, the program is exploring a family medicine obstetrics fellowship program soon. If interested, there is an opportunity to train in robotically assisted GYN pelvic surgery with one of the current faculty physicians.
Philosophy:
The program encourages their faculty and resident physicians to integrate their Christian faith in both patient care and in residency education. The mission of the program is to train family physicians to practice full scope family medicine, including inpatient adult, pediatric and obstetrical care, in underserved communities both domestically and globally. This mission has been pursued for over 45 years.
