Not-for-profit OB/Gyn seeking to add another OB/Gyn.  There is currently one OB/Gyn, one fellowship-trained FM/OB, and one Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.  Call is 1:8 weekdays/weekends.  Emergency back up call is also included, but that is rarely employed. Seeking a BE/BC OB/Gyn with pleasant interpersonal demeanor, plus the ability and desire to instruct Family Medicine residents and students.  This is an excellent opportunity for balance of a very reasonable pace of practice combined with a good lifestyle, competitive salary, and a low cost of living area.  They have a happy office staff which buys into serving the underserved.  It is a beautiful area to live and raise a family.  Modern facility in a non-urban area.  Administrative tasks are minimized as they are largely handled by the employer.  Teaching Family Medicine residents is an integral part of their practice.  The degree to which you desire to blend inpatient and outpatient and teaching responsibilities is a topic for consideration and discussion.  Reason for recruiting is to allow the OB/GYN to consider working part-time as he approaches retirement.  This is an employment opportunity with a not-for-profit entity and therefore the push for productivity is minimal.  The practice was started as an opportunity to serve the underserved and a significant proportion of their patients fall into that category.  The reputation of the practice and the providers has grown to where they are attracting the “adequately-served” as well.  The required volume of daily outpatients is very reasonable.  While their schedules are full, they are easily handled and they do not take work home at night.
